WebGeneral Description. Body and wings are narrow; legs are long and narrow. Body up to 3 cm long. Biology. Crane Flies are sometimes mistaken for mosquitoes. WebThe genus Samarangopus is reported from there for the first time. Four new species are described by the first author: one in Pauropodidae, Decapauropus whanganuiensis n. sp., two in Eurypauropodidae, Samarangopus plicatus n. sp. and S. constellatus n. sp., and one in a new family, Eirmopauropodidae, Eirmopauropus distichos n. gen., n. sp.
